Removing Your RV From Storage

If your RV has sat in winter storage, it’s important to go through the de-winterization process before you embark on a spring camping trip. The following steps can help you get your RV ready for the traveling season in no time!

Air Your RV Out

A great first step is to air out your camper. Open up the various doors and windows to get some fresh air flowing through.

Check the Battery

Cooler temperatures can damage your camper’s battery. Make sure it is free of cracks. Next, clean the connections, check the fluid levels, and charge it.

Address the Water System and Fluid Levels

The last steps you can take to prepare your rig for the summer are checking on the water system as well as the fluid levels. Fully drain the freshwater tank and rinse it out. Then fill it back up with clean water. Finally, check all of your fluids and top off any that are low.

Test the Appliances and Lights

It is better to discover that your RV’s tail lights or refrigerator aren’t working when you get it out of storage rather than while you are on vacation. Test all of your RV’s lights and appliances, and make appropriate repairs before you set out on your next trip.
