Want to embark on a solo RV vacation? It can be a great way to get out into nature, but it’s important to take safety precautions when traveling alone. Read on for solo RV tips!
Give the Appearance of Company
One way to deter theft or predators is to make it look like you aren’t traveling alone. This is a very easy thing to do. Bring an extra lawn chair or larger pair of shoes to set by your door so that it looks like two people are home.
Camp Amongst Others
While you may be tempted to camp in an isolated space away from others for some true solitude, this is not the best way to stay safe. Set up camp closer to other campers without being in the way or up front. Any weird behavior or strange occurrences will be noted by the people nearby, which helps to keep you safe. Also, avoid boxing yourself into a camping space that you can’t get out of.
Stay Alert
Finally, you’ll want to make sure you’re paying attention to your surroundings. Take note of suspect activity and listen to your intuition; if you feel like something is off, then don’t take any chances. Leave where you are or locate someone to help you. Using some common sense and awareness should help you to stay safe, provided you don’t let down your guard.
